Areas To Visit
Larnaca
Although very much a working city; the palm-lined waterfront promenade, ancient fort and historic quarter imbue Larnaca with a distinct antique flavour. Today the city is a relaxed place well-loved for its easy going attitude and friendly people. Modern Larnaca is a bustling town with its own international airport, yet it has somehow managed to retain a good deal of historic Levantine charm.
Tourism is beginning to catch on in a big way and hotels and resort-complexes are springing up on the outskirts of the town. Larnaca’s nightlife is also on the up and the town centre corrals together an enviable collection of bars, cafes and tavernas. Scuba divers are in for a treat in the shape of the Zenobia, a passenger ferry which sank in 1983 and is now rated as one of the world’s top ten wrecks.

Protaras
Protaras is one of Ayia Napa’s main satellite resorts and a firm favourite with British families. Historically the resort was known as Fig Tree Bay, however anyone expecting the kind of tranquillity that this name suggests will leave disappointed.
Today back-to-back hotels line the waterfront and there isn’t a single fig tree in sight. Fortunately the sea has retained its glassy clarity and Protoras’ beaches are among the best on the island. Travel north and you’ll discover isolated coves bitten form the coastline, while eight kilometres to the south there’s the 24-hour party Mecca that is Ayia Napa.
Sunbathing is usually at the top of most visitors’ agendas as the beaches along this coastline are some of the best on the island. If you’re beginning to get beach inertia you’ll find the entire spectrum of water sports to choose from, as well as a variety of white-knuckle pursuits such as paragliding and water-skiing.

Ayia Napa
Over the years Ayia Napa has developed into a popular holiday resort due to its beautiful crystal clear blue beaches with golden sands and many tourist attractions. The beaches are awesome with thin and fine sand, hidden among a chain of rocky boulders that form many small and cosy bays.
Ayia Napa has become popular and is visited by many people from all over the world. It is also very well known for its magnificent night clubs and bars which cater people of any age.
This town has much to offer whether you are young or old. Normally the little village has less than 1000 inhabitants, but during summer season it hosts more than 10.000 tourists per day.

Nicosia
Nicosia lies roughly at the center of the island, with a rich history that can be traced back to the Bronze Age. It only became Capital of the island in the 11th century AD. Today it blends its historic past brilliantly with the bustle of a modern city.
The heart of the city, enclosed by 16th century Venetian walls, is dotted with museums, ancient churches and medieval buildings preserving the nostalgic atmosphere of years past.
The new Nicosia developed outside the walls became a contemporary, business and cultural centre. Just a few miles away are enchanting places of interest such as Byzantine churches and monasteries, archaeological sites and charming villages.
Without a doubt, Nicosia the 1000-year-old capital of Cyprus should be on every visitor’s agenda. It lies roughly in the centre of the island; within easy reach of the other towns and a day in Nicosia will be a day well spent.
